Muhammad Syukri, a young man born in Punie, has been elected as the Chair of the Informatics Student Association (HMIF) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) for the 2026/2027 period through the General Assembly election process, which involved active participation from Informatics students. He was born on August 1, 2005, and currently resides in Mata Ie, Aceh Besar.
Syukri pursued his educational journey in Banda Aceh. He completed his elementary education at MIN 7 Banda Aceh, continued his junior high school education at MTsN 1 Banda Aceh, and graduated from MAN 1 Banda Aceh for his senior high school level. Currently, he is an active sixth-semester student of the Undergraduate Informatics Study Program at Universitas Syiah Kuala, class of 2023.
Throughout his organizational journey, Syukri has gained considerable leadership experience. Before being elected as the Chair of HMIF, he served as the Vice Chair II of HMIF in the previous management period. His organizational involvement began during his school years, where he served as the Vice Chair of OSIM at MTsN and later became the Chair of OSIM at MAN. At the university level, he has also been actively involved in student organizations, including serving as a staff member of BEM FMIPA USK in 2024 and participating in various student activities.
In his leadership of HMIF, Syukri brings a vision to develop the Informatics Student Association into an organization that is communicative, progressive, professional, and impactful through a culture of collaboration, innovation, and member capacity development. He emphasizes the importance of strengthening a more organized and effective organizational system, improving student competencies through skill-based activities, and encouraging a culture of research and innovation among Informatics students.
As a concrete step toward achieving this vision, Syukri introduces a flagship program focusing on the development of the Informatics Club as a learning platform and a collaborative space for Informatics students. Through various activities such as technology development classes, knowledge-sharing discussions, and collaborative projects, he hopes that Informatics students at USK can enhance their technical skills while gaining practical experience in the field of technology. In addition, he also aims to introduce programs relevant to students’ needs, such as technology development classes, communication and English classes for professional purposes, as well as project-based activities that encourage students to participate in competitions and technological innovation.
The leadership principle that Syukri intends to implement during his tenure is participatory leadership, which emphasizes open communication, strong teamwork, and decision-making that prioritizes collective interests. He believes that a strong organization is built upon a collaborative, consistent, and innovative working culture, allowing every member to grow while making meaningful contributions to the organization.
In terms of academic interests, Syukri is particularly interested in software development, web application development, and the development of data-driven systems and digital technologies, including AI engineering. He has also been involved in several web-based application development projects, including the creation of digital systems to support business operations and backend development for web-based reporting systems.
In closing, Syukri holds great hopes for all HMIF members to remain actively involved in building the organization while supporting each other in the process of learning and self-development. He envisions HMIF as a shared home for Informatics students to learn, create, and innovate. This spirit is reflected in the name of his cabinet, AKSARA. For Syukri, AKSARA symbolizes ideas, knowledge, and evolving intellectual traces, while also representing a collaborative, consistent, and innovative spirit in building an organization that provides space for every member to contribute meaningfully to HMIF and the broader community.
