Department of Informatics
The Informatics Study Program was opened in 2010 under the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Syiah Kuala University. The permit for operating the study program was officially established on June 9, 2010, through the Decree of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia number 70/D/O/2010.
The establishment of this study program was viewed not only as an effort to actualize Syiah Kuala University’s relevance in preparing the skilled workforce needed in the fields of informatics and computers for the future, but also as an effort to realize the grand scenario of increasing the nation’s competitiveness, as mandated in the Basic Framework for Higher Education Development KPPTJP IV 2003-2010 (HELTS 2003-2010) by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education.
As of this year, 2024, the Informatics Study Program has entered its 14th year as one of the study programs at Syiah Kuala University.
