
On November 29, 2025, the Department of Informatics carried out an educational outreach program at MAN 1 Pidie with the theme “Enhancing Digital Literacy through the Use of Smart and Positive Generative AI.” This activity aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of digital technology developments and the responsible, safe, and productive use of generative artificial intelligence.
The departmental promotion material was delivered by Mr. Husaini, M.Sc., who introduced the Department of Informatics, academic programs, study opportunities, and various student achievements. This session provided students with a comprehensive overview of the academic environment and prospects for developing skills in the field of informatics.


The main theme presentation was delivered by Dr. Ir. Irvanizam, S.Si., M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN Eng. He explained the concept of digital literacy, recent advancements in generative AI, and examples of its applications in education and industry. To help students understand complex concepts more easily, he introduced the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) theory as an analogy of how AI collects and processes data optimally, inspired by how ants determine efficient paths using pheromone trails. He also presented the Termite Theory as another analogy to illustrate how simple agents can work collectively to produce complex behaviors, helping students grasp the fundamental principles of intelligent systems more intuitively.
The event was attended by lecturers and staff of the Department of Informatics. The interaction and question-and-answer session with students were also supported by Mr. Dwipa Junika Putra, S.Kom., M.Kom., which made the discussion more engaging and informative.



Overall, the activity was conducted enthusiastically, with active participation from students during the discussion and Q&A sessions. The Department of Informatics hopes that this program will help strengthen digital literacy among young learners and inspire them to explore and develop competencies in the field of informatics in the future.
