The Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), conducted a promotion and educational outreach activity at SMA Negeri 2 Percontohan Aceh Tamiang. The activity aimed to introduce the Department of Informatics and provide teachers and students with insights into the use of technology.
The activity began with remarks from the Principal of SMA Negeri 2 Percontohan Aceh Tamiang and a representative of the Department of Informatics, followed by the presentation of souvenirs. The promotion session was then divided into two teams, with different topics presented to teachers and students.
The lecturer team delivered a session for teachers entitled “AI for Learning.” The session discussed the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support the learning process and its responsible and effective application in education.
Meanwhile, the student team delivered an educational session for students entitled “Be Wise on Social Media.” Students were encouraged to use social media wisely, safely, and responsibly, while understanding the importance of ethics in social media use.
The activity also featured a profile video of the Department of Informatics, introducing its academic programs and various activities within FMIPA USK.
Through this activity, the Department of Informatics FMIPA USK hopes to broaden teachers’ and students’ understanding of technological developments while introducing informatics education to prospective university students.
