The Informatics Student Association (HMIF) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), successfully held its General Assembly (MUBES) for the 2024/2025 term on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the FMIPA USK Multipurpose Auditorium.
Carrying the theme “Advancing Together: Building a Visionary, Integrity-Driven, and Impactful Informatics Student Community,” this year’s MUBES served as an important moment to evaluate the organization’s progress, refine the Statutes (AD) and Bylaws (ART), and elect a new HMIF Chairperson who will lead the organization toward greater advancement.
The event was held solemnly and attended by key figures, including Ms. Laina Farsiah, S.Si., M.S., the Coordinator of Student Affairs for the Informatics Department, and Mr. Alim Misbullah, S.Si., M.S., the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Informatics Study Program. Representatives from FMIPA’s student organizations (ORMAWA), active Informatics students from various cohorts, and HMIF committee members from the 2023/2024 term were also present.
The series of events began with an opening by the masters of ceremony, Mahardika and Khalisha, followed by a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Muhammad Syukri, and the singing of Indonesia Raya, led by Anisa Ramadhani. The opening remarks were delivered by the Committee Chairperson, Irfan Syahputra, who presented the activity report and expressed gratitude to all contributors. This was followed by a speech from Ardian, the 2023/2024 HMIF Chairperson, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and a forward-looking vision for the continuity of the organization. Subsequent remarks were given by Ms. Laina Farsiah and Mr. Alim Misbullah, who encouraged all participants to actively contribute to the progress of HMIF.
After the opening session, the event proceeded to the Plenary Sessions.
Plenary Session I discussed the procedural rules of the assembly and elected the permanent chairpersons of the session.
Plenary Session II focused on refining the Statutes (AD) and Bylaws (ART) to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and direction.
The highlight of the event, Plenary Session III, featured presentations of visions and missions from the HMIF Chairperson candidates, followed by a democratic voting process.
Through a smooth and transparent election process, Glenn Hakim was officially elected as the Chairperson of HMIF for the 2024/2025 term. In his inaugural speech, Glenn expressed his commitment to leading HMIF toward becoming a more visionary, integrity-driven, and impactful organization that benefits both Informatics students and society at large.
The event concluded in a spirit of togetherness, marked by a group photo session involving all participants and committee members. The HMIF 2024/2025 General Assembly not only served as a forum for evaluation and leadership regeneration but also as a reflection of the democratic spirit among Informatics students. With the outcomes achieved, HMIF is expected to continue growing as a solid organization that delivers meaningful contributions to its members and the academic community.
