“Digitopia: Designing a Seamlessly Connected, Inclusive, and Intelligent Future”

The Informatics Student Association (HMIF) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), successfully organized the Informatics Festival (INFEST) XI 2025 from October 17–19, 2025.
This annual event carried the theme “Digitopia: Designing a Seamlessly Connected, Inclusive, and Intelligent Future”, aiming to foster innovation, creativity, and collaboration in the field of information technology.

The opening ceremony took place at the FMIPA Hall, marked by a series of vibrant performances and presentations. The event began with the screening of the INFEST 2025 trailer and a traditional Rapai Dance performance by Sanggar Kafa Sanat (SAKAFA), symbolizing the harmony between Acehnese culture and technological progress. The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech, Dean of FMIPA USK, accompanied by Rasudin Abubakar, S.Si., M.Info.Tech, Head of the Informatics Study Program.

In his remarks, T.M. Fadlul Ihsan, Chairperson of INFEST XI, emphasized that INFEST is not merely a competition, but a platform to strengthen the digital innovation ecosystem in Aceh. “INFEST serves as a space for young people to express ideas, creativity, and technological solutions that can bring real impact to society,” he said.

The festival featured three major competitions: the Computer Olympiad of INFEST (COINS) for high school students, the UI/UX Design Competition, and the Hackathon, which attracted participants from various universities across Indonesia.

In addition to the competitions, INFEST XI also hosted a National Seminar in collaboration with NVIDIA Indonesia, featuring two distinguished speakers: Anjas Maradita (Lead of Pekerja.AI) and Adrian Lesmono (Country Consumer Business Lead, NVIDIA Indonesia). The seminar attracted over 500 participants from universities, schools, and the general public, discussing advancements in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

The event concluded on October 19, 2025, with the announcement of winners. The Hackathon was won by Team Raja Ibelis Aseli (University of North Sumatra), the UI/UX Design Competition by Team haJAR (University of Indonesia), and the COINS by Ridhwan Athif (MAN 1 Banda Aceh).

HMIF Chairperson Glenn Hakim expressed his hope that INFEST will continue to serve as a platform for nurturing digital talent and inspiring Aceh’s young generation to contribute to Indonesia’s technological advancement.
