Banda Aceh, October 24, 2024 – The Informatics Student Association (HMIF) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) successfully organized Tech Talk #6 with the theme “Start Your Dream: From Idea to Startup.” The event took place at the FMIPA Auditorium, USK, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Designed as an interactive seminar and inspirational talk show, this program aimed to provide students with practical insights and motivation to develop their creative ideas into sustainable startup businesses.
The event began with an opening session led by the Master of Ceremony (MC), followed by welcoming remarks from university officials and the Head of the Organizing Committee, Ahmad Syah Ramadhan. In his speech, Ahmad emphasized the importance of nurturing students’ entrepreneurial skills, especially in the rapidly evolving digital era. The Chairperson of HMIF also delivered his appreciation to all participants for their enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the event.
The core session featured an experienced startup practitioner who shared valuable insights on the strategic steps to build a startup — from idea development and market validation to product launching and industry readiness. Guided by a skilled moderator, the discussion ran in an interactive and engaging manner. Participants were also given the opportunity to directly interact with the speaker during a lively Q&A session.
In addition to the talk show, the event included a mentoring session, where participants could discuss their startup ideas with experienced mentors. These discussions provided constructive feedback and practical advice, helping participants understand real challenges and solutions in starting a business. The program also featured startup idea simulations and case studies, giving participants a clearer picture of the process of building a business from scratch.
Tech Talk #6 was attended by 176 participants and supported by 9 organizing committee members. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident throughout the event, particularly during the interactive discussions with the speakers and mentors. With its relevant theme and comprehensive approach, this program made a significant positive impact on the participants.
The event concluded with a prayer, a group photo session, and a formal closing by the MC. The Head of the Committee, Ahmad Syah Ramadhan, expressed his gratitude to all parties who contributed to the success of the event, including the organizing team, speakers, and participants. He hoped that Tech Talk #6 would inspire students to begin their journey in building innovative, competitive startups that bring real benefits to society.
Through the successful implementation of Tech Talk #6, HMIF USK continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to fostering student potential, particularly in technology and entrepreneurship. It is hoped that this event will mark the beginning of many new startups that will drive positive change in the industry.
